"Wow, Raye! This new comic book is great!" Serena
said as she flipped another page. Raye was busily
sweeping her floor, trying to get it clean before
the other scouts arrived.
"Don't tell me anything about it," Raye warned her.
"I haven't had a chance to read it yet."
"Oh, come on, Raye," Serena said, "You know I would
never give away the end of a story."
"Yeah, right," Raye murmured sarcastically.
"Hello!" someone shouted from outside the room. Raye
opened the door. It was Lita, followed by the rest
of the gang. They all walked in and took off their
shoes by the door.
"So, Raye," said Lita, "Why did you call for a Scout
meeting? Is there something wrong?"
"I'll tell you why I called you guys here, as soon
as everyone is ready," Raye said.
"I hope it's nothing serious," said Amy as she placed
her shoes by the door. "We just finished a terrible
battle. I don't want to have to go through another
one for a long time."
"I agree," Mina chimed in. "I think we all just need
a break."
"Well, is everyone ready?" asked Raye. The Scouts
were about to answer her when they suddenly heard
an outburst of laughter. Everyone turned their heads
to see Serena still lying on the bed reading a comic
book.
"Serena!" Raye shouted.
"What?!" she shouted back.
"We're starting now, if you don't mind."
"Sorry, I was just finishing the part where the good
guy kills the bad guy and he saves the girl and they
get married and…" She was interrupted by Raye who
slapped her upside the head with a pillow.
"Owww! Raye! That hurt!"
"Well, you should have been paying more attention
and you shouldn't have told me the ending to the comic!"
Raye yelled.
"Well, you didn't have to hit me!"
Raye threw her arms in the air. "Oh, I give up!"
"Serena," Luna said sternly, "get over here and listen
to what Raye has to say!"
"Shouldn't we have called Darien to this meeting?"
Serena asked as she sat down beside Mina. "I mean,
he is a Scout too."
"I tried to get in touch with him," Raye told her,
"but he wasn't at home. Maybe he was working today.
Anyway, you all are probably wanting me to tell you
why I called you here." Everyone nodded their heads.
"Well, I've been getting some strange vibes lately.
Negavibes. But, the weird thing is, is that I don't
think they're coming from anywhere on Earth."
"Huh?!" everyone said almost together. "I know it
sounds crazy," Raye went on to say, "but it's true.
And I've also been having this strange dream. For
the past two nights, I dreamed about a woman. An evil
woman, who planned to take over the universe by releasing
the Doom Phantom."
"What?!" everyone said in unison this time.
"But that's impossible!" Amy exclaimed. "We all know
that the Doom Phantom was banished forever when we
destroyed Wiseman."
"I know," said Raye, "That's why I can't figure out
why I'm having this dream."
"Well, have you gone to the fire about it?" Artemis
asked.
"Not yet," Raye answered. "I wanted to see what you
guys thought about it first."
"And did you say that a woman was trying to take
over the universe?" Serena asked.
"Yes," said Raye, "Why, Meatball Head? Do you think
you know what my dream means?"
"I don't know, Raye," Serena answered angrily. "I
was just asking."
"Now, you two," Luna warned, "Don't start your fighting
again."
Hmm, I wonder if her dream has anything to do with…
No, it couldn't be. Raye said that it was a woman
in her dream. Besides, Darien said that Saban only
had the powers that his evilness gave him. There's
no way he could get off Europa…
Serena had been deep in thought for quite sometime.
She didn't hear Raye tell the others that she was
going to hit her with another pillow if she didn't
wake up soon.
"Now Raye…" Luna began to say.
"Oh, Luna, can't I have just a little fun?" Raye
said with a smile. She walked over to Serena and pulled
the pillow over her head. She swung the pillow around,
but failed to see Serena awake from her trance. Serena's
head turned towards Raye just as the pillow came down.
It smacked her square in the face.
"Oww!" Serena screamed, and then she began to cry.
"Oh, sorry, Serena!" Raye tried to tell her. "I didn't
mean to hit you right in the face. I…"
"Why are you always so mean to me?!" Serena shouted
at her through sobs.
"I told you I was sorry!" Raye shouted back. "You
know, maybe if you weren't such a meatball head all
the time, you would start paying attention more and
stop dreaming about guys and food!"
"But I wasn't!" Serena told her. "I was trying to
think about what your dream might mean."
"Yeah, you were trying to think…" Raye started to
say.
"Oh, come on, Raye," Mina interrupted. "I think you've
teased Serena enough for one day."
"Yeah," Serena added, "You don't always have to
pick on me!"
"Alright," Raye finally said, "I'll stop for now."
"Well, good, now that that's all settled, we can
finish our discussion about Raye's dream," Luna told
everyone.
"I think you should ask the Fire," Lita suggested.
"It could probably tell you something about it."
"Maybe you're right," said Raye.
"Why not go ask it right now?" Artemis said to her.
"We'll wait here until you're done."
"Ok," Raye agreed, "I'll be right back. It shouldn't
take long."
Just as she said that, Raye's grandpa opened the
door and brought in a tray full of cookies and drinks.
"Here you go," he said to everyone. "Help yourselves!"
"Thank you!" everyone shouted as he walked out the
door.
"Ok, guys," Raye said again, "I'll be right back.
Like Grandpa said, just help yourselves to the cookies."
"Oh, yes!" Serena shouted as she stuffed a cookie
in her mouth. "I love these!"
"Of course, you guys should probably try to get
one before Serena eats them all!" Raye sneered.
"I heard that!" Serena mumbled between chews.
Without another word, Raye stepped into the Temple.
***
All was dark in the Temple, except for the Fire that
stood in the very center of the room. Raye walked
over to the Fire and knelt down onto the white cushion.
She placed her hands together and closed her eyes.
"Oh, Great Fire," she began to say, "I am in need
of your great wisdom."
The Fire glowed brighter.
"I have been having a strange dream. An evil woman
was trying to take over the universe by releasing
the Doom Phantom. But, we banished the Doom Phantom
forever. How can it be that this woman could release
him again?
The Fire raged and continued to glow brighter. Raye
sat silently waiting, hoping for an answer. She opened
her eyes and gasped.
Before her, was a silhouette image of a young woman.
She was standing beside a young man in a dark room.
They were talking, but the fire never allowed Raye
to hear anything. The image suddenly switched to Serena
and Darien walking side by side.
Raye almost screamed when she saw what happened next.
There was a sudden burst of energy that came from
the sky. It took hold of Serena's body and pulled
her away. Darien ran, trying to catch her, shouting
something all the way. But it was too late. The beam
of energy suddenly disappeared, and with it, Serena.
The image faded and the Fire returned to its normal
state.
Raye sat there in shock. She couldn't believe what
she had just seen. But the Fire didn't answer my question,
Raye thought. I need to know what the woman plans
to do with the Doom Phantom.
She repositioned herself on the cushion and closed
her eyes. "Oh, Great Fire, I need to know more. I
need to know how the woman plans on releasing the
Doom Phantom."
The Fire glowed again and raged its flames around.
An image appeared again. It showed the woman and the
man again.
Raye couldn't distinguish their features very well,
but knew that it was the same two people she had seen
just moments ago.
The man walked over to a table that had four colorful
stones placed on top. They were formed into a circle.
The image zoomed in on the stones. Oh, no! Raye thought,
the stones of the inner planets! How can that be?
The image faded into another. "Oh, my gosh!" Raye
said.
It showed Serena, dressed in her white gown that
she only wore when she was Princess Serenity of the
Moon. The crescent moon in the middle of her forehead
was now turned upside down, in the shape of the Nega
moon. She was holding the Silver Crystal and was facing
someone. The silhouette of that person turned into
Prince Darien.
The Fire's flames raged and grew higher. Then suddenly,
the image disappeared and the Fire was calm.
Raye sat there, again, horrified at what she had
seen. "Those people had the inner planet stones!"
Raye said to herself. "If they have end up possessing
the stones, then that would mean…" She trailed off
at this thought. "And then Serena, disappearing and
then turning evil. How can this be? I wonder if the
Fire is telling the truth…I hope not."
Raye stood up and walked over to the door. "I don't
know how I'm going to tell them this."
***
Raye opened the door and stepped into her room.
All the scouts were talking and laughing while Serena
finished the last of the cookies. Everyone looked
up when they heard the door close.
"Raye!" they all shouted.
"So, did the Fire tell you anything?" Artemis asked.
"Yes," Raye answered, "But I'm not sure you want
to hear it."
Raye sat down and began telling them about her first
vision. When she got to the part about Serena disappearing,
everyone was shocked.
"What?!" Serena shouted. "I disappear into a beam
of energy? Are you for real, Raye?"
"Yes, Serena," Raye said, "I'm afraid so."
"Well, the Fire could be wrong, right? I mean, it
doesn't always tell you the truth…does it?"
"Serena, yes, sometimes the Fire is wrong. But this
time, I have a feeling it's telling the truth."
Serena was quiet all of the sudden. She just sat
there and stared at the floor. She couldn't believe
what she had just heard.
Amy looked at Serena, worried, but then turned to
look at Raye again. "Didn't you say you had a second
vision? Tell us about that one."
Serena, on hearing this, looked up at Raye and awaited
to hear the other story. Raye, looked back at Serena,
then to everyone else. She took a deep breath.
"Well, in my second vision, I saw the same man and
woman. The man walked over to a table with four stones
on it…" she trailed off.
Everyone stared at Raye, wondering why she had stopped.
Raye didn't want to go on, but new she had to. "They
were the stones of the inner planets."
"What?!" everyone shouted and then they started
asking questions all at once.
Luna decided to jump in. "Everyone, stop talking
and let Raye finish her story!" she shouted.
At this, everyone calmed down, but Lita spoke up.
"If the bad guys have the stones, then that would
mean…"
"I know," Raye interrupted. "We would all disappear
and be trapped in the place where the stones are kept.
Everyone became silent, pondering what Raye had just
said.
"But that's not all," Raye told them. "After that,
I saw Serena again. She was dressed as Princess Serenity
and was part of the Negamoon family."
"No!" they all shouted, and turned to look at Serena.
She was in shock.
"And in the last image, she was holding the Silver
Crystal and was about to attack Prince Darien."
At hearing this, Serena began to cry. "No, no, it
can't be true!" she kept shouting. The scouts tried
to comfort her, but it did not help. She kept crying
and sobbing and telling everyone that she would never
hurt Darien.
While the other scouts were talking to Serena, Amy
pulled out her special Mercury computer and began
to type in all the data that she had just heard.
"Raye," Amy said.
"Yeah?" Raye asked.
"Can you tell me what the man and woman in your
vision looked like?"
"I'm afraid not." she answered.
Everyone, including Serena, turned and looked at
Raye.
"They were only silhouettes." she continued. "I could
never see their faces."
"This is bad," Amy said.
"Yeah," Mina agreed, "We have to find these guys
before they find Serena."
"Don't you worry Serena," Lita comforted, "We'll
protect you."
Serena looked up at her friend, "Thank you," she
said with tears in her eyes.
"You guys are forgetting one thing," Luna told them.
"What's that?" they asked. "If Raye's vision is true
and these two evil entities get a hold of the inner
planet stones, then that would mean…"
"That would mean they would have to attack our home
planets to get them!" Amy shouted.
Luna and Artemis nodded.
"What do you think they are going to do with the
stones?" Serena asked.
"Well," Raye said, "The only thing I can think of
is that they will combine the powers of the inner
planet stones with the power of the Silver Crystal
and release the Doom Phantom."
"Oh, no!" everyone gasped.
"Grrr!" Lita growled, "We have to find these Nega
slimeballs before they destroy our planets and take
over the universe!"
