"Oh Endymion, we haven't seen each other for so
long, it's been torture!"
"What have you been up to recently, my princess?"
"Well, my court has been trying to train me in a
bunch of ways, like magic and physical fighting."
"That's good, right?" He looked at me with a confused
expression on his handsome face.
"I guess...I haven't learned much though. And I've
missed you." I leaned against his shoulder, I always
feel so wonderful when I was with him, it was a feeling
I hoped would never end.
"And I you, Selenity." He wraped his arm over my
shoulder and hugged my close.
"Will you be coming to the dance tonight?" I looked
up into his eyes. Ah, you could lose yourself for
eons in those eyes, beautiful orbs of deep blue like
the oceans of Earth…
"I'm sorry, I won't be able to attend." He looked
down and I felt his sadness mixed with mine, "Dark
forces have attacked Earth, and I have to be there
to protect it. I'm also fighting for the protection
of your home, the Moon Kingdom would be the most obvious
target for an attack."
"But what if they're too strong?" He didn't have
to answer, his face told me what it would be. "I see.
Here," I pulled a star-shaped locket out of my pocket
and handed it to him, "it plays a melody when you
open it. It's for you, so I'm at your side, even in
battle."
"You're always in my heart," he smiled, "nothing
will prevent that."
"And you mine." he leaned down and kissed me. I
know that the battle will be hard, but no matter what
happens, we'll always be together, my love.
"Princess Selenity?" I broke the kiss and turned
in the direction of the noise. I saw Sailor Sun-no,
she was Princess Hoshi, why she was on earth and
not in her senshi form- oh right- the dance…
"Yes, what is it?"
"Oh!" she stopped as she saw my companion, "I'm
sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt your highnesses."
"It's alright," Endymion looked at her, "what did
you want, Hoshi?"
"Thank you, highness. Princess, your mother wants
you to return home," she glanced back at Endymion,
"but I don't think a little more time would hurt."
I nodded, "Thank you."
"Hm," she smiled at me and turned back to the prince,
"Prince Endymion?"
"Yes?"
"Where is your court?"
"At the palace, I presume." he seemed rather puzzled
by such a strange question.
"No, I meant Kunzite, Zoisite, Nephrite and Jadeite."
His face took on a look more of sadness then confusion.
"They've been missing, I fear that they may have
been wounded in the last attack." I could see Hoshi's
face drain of all color.
"That attack-was it the same person as now?" She
managed to stutter.
"I believe so, why?" I could see her wince, but she
quickly hid her reaction, must have a lot of practice.
"They are your best soldiers, are they not?"
"By far, you should know that as well as I."
"And in comparison, we are weak."
"Well, I wouldn't say weak..." he mumbled, evidentially
not wanting to hurt my feelings.
"Prince, it is very important that I know the truth
to that."
"...It would most likely take at least two of you
to beat one of them in a battle."
"Thank you. Princess, when you're ready."
"Yes, just a moment." Out of respect, she walked
out of hearing range and turned around, so that we
had some privacy. Mars wouldn't have done that...
she would have hovered over our shoulders. I should
ask for Hoshi to teach her. I grinned at the thought
of Rei taking notes on how to be polite.
"What was wrong with her?"
"I have no idea." I sighed, ever since she had joined
Mars and I for the fire reading, she had been acting
strange. It didn't make sense, Mars saw nothing
in the flames, so how could Sun?"But I'm sure
she'll be fine." I kissed him gently on the cheek
and smiled, "You will be, too and I'll see you later."
"I'll try to make it to the dance."
"I'll be waiting." I turned to Hoshi and she teleported
us back to the moon.
"Please excuse me, princess. I need to speak to the
Queen."
"Of course. I'll go to my quarters."
"Alright, we'll meet you there before the dance,"
I wonder if Endymion will be okay. If only he didn't
have to fight, at least until after the dance…
she smiled understandingly, "and don't worry, he'll
make it." I returned the smile, she could read
my thoughts so well, even better than mom. Well read
this: thank you. Sure enough, she nodded and turned
to go find my mom. Amazing...
